An inverter system uses regular 110v to charge up the batteries inside. When the power cuts off the the system, it converts the power of the battery (inverts) to 110v so your opener will continue to work as it normally does with all the accessories that are attached to is so your gate's safety is intact as well.

S. L. Scott L. 09-01-2023 Hello there and thank you for reaching out to us! Unfortunately Doorking does not have any information that tells us how long a unit will last (cycle wise or time wise). It is variable. Do you have 1/2 HP or 1 HP unit? You should get around 20 to 30 cycles though. But it is so dependable on how many accessories you have wired to the unit (which also drains the batteries). Please feel free to contact us back with any extra information you have in regards to your gate operator and accessories.
